Lino Tagliapietra at the JamFactory
Lino Tagliapietra is the most influential glass artist of the modern era. Internationally renowned and revered Tagliapietra spent what is likely to be his last working trip down under exclusively at JamFactory.
Born in Murano, Italy an island near Venice with an incredible history of Glass artistry, Tagliapietra has mastered the traditional Venetian techniques and become a 'maestro' of the medium. Now working mainly out of American, Tagliapietra continues to develop exquisite studio pieces that have shaped the contemporary art form of glass. His mastery of the material as well as his generosity and openness have made him a hero, a role model and a mentor for many of the world's leading glass artists.
Lino conducted a workshop at JamFactory for five days in October 2006, demonstrating to an audience of over 50 local and national students, professional glass artists and educators. Lino's visit was an exciting opportunity for South Australia's glass community.
