Articles - 27 September 2005Program - Memories in Place: art in high country hutsExhibition at Craft ACTMemories in Place: art in high country huts is a unique collaborative project between Craft ACT and Namadgi National Park. Artists Paull McKee, Daniel Maginnity and Joanne Searle respond to three pastoralists huts, their original inhabitants and the natural environment in Namadgi National Park to create discrete temporary installations. The artists and the artworks provide a contemporary interpretation of these rudimentary but important dwellings surviving from early European settlement of the area. Opening: Thursday 6 October at 6pm by Mark Cleghorn, President of the Kosciuszko Huts Association Installation in the huts at Namadgi National ParkCraft ACT will be hosting a special day trip to visit the installations in the huts at the Namadgi National Park.
